ZOOM Cloud Meetings
ZOOM Cloud Meetings review
Zoom Cloud Meetings is a cloud-based service for online meetings. Though released in 2012, it was only after the coronavirus outbreak that Zoom has skyrocketed in popularity. And rightly so! The user-friendly interface, along with a range of practical features, makes Zoom one of the best apps of the sort.
What Is Zoom?
You can use the app for various purposes due to its multifunctionality and simplicity. Live webinars, separate chat rooms, a share screen option, the opportunity to record online sessions, and many more — all these features make Zoom a perfect place to hold your business meetings, lectures and live lessons or just have a heart-to-heart conversation with your loved ones in peace and comfort of your home or on the run. What’s more, you can integrate a number of apps to extend the functionality of the app.
If you have a free plan, you can host only a 40-minute meeting, then it will be interrupted, and you will have to rejoin the conference. Uninterrupted meetings are only available with a paid plan. It is worth mentioning that you can do it with a free plan unless you need to hold meetings with more than a hundred participants. A range of options such as reporting, user management, and recording a meeting directly into the cloud will not be available, though.
One of the main advantages of the app is its versatility and availability. You can run Zoom on iOS and Android devices, Blackberry, Windows, Mac and Linux. The layout varies depending on platforms, yet it is equally easy to understand.
Zoom doesn’t require any powerful devices; you can easily run the app on most platforms. However, not all devices can support the green screen option. If your device can, there is plenty of room for creativity!
These are the most general requirements to run the app:
- Processor: Dual Core 2Ghz or Higher (i3/i5/i7 or AMD equivalent);
- RAM: 4GB;
- OS: Windows 7 or higher (Mac OS X with Mac OS 10.10 and higher);
- Browsers: Edge 12+, IE7+, Firefox 27+, Chrome 30+, Safari 5+ for Windows; Safari5+, Firefox 27+, Chrome 30+ for Mac; Firefox 27+, Chrome 30+ for Linux;
- High DPI displays: 3.5 and later versions;
- iOS 7.0 or later;
- iPadOS 13 or later;
- Android 4.0x or later.
Above all, do not forget that a stable internet connection is of utmost importance!
