Netflix is one of the most well-known streaming video services in the world. One of the distinctive features of it is that new series are released not one episode once a week, but immediately a whole season on one day simultaneously around the world in different languages. This app is paid, and therefore we decided to do a detailed review so that each reader can decide whether it is worth downloading.
Netflix Main Features
On the app's main screen, there are the following tabs: Home, Search, Coming Soon, Downloads, and More. On the Home screen, you can also open sections with TV shows, movies, and your list of interesting projects. The more you watch and add videos to this list, the more accurate recommendations Netflix offers you. Your likes and dislikes also influence these recommendations. New movies and shows regularly appear on the service. Netflix makes a preliminary announcement, and if you are interested in something, you can set a reminder.
You can switch to a child account in profile settings, where your kid will not see inappropriate content. The number of genre categories after activating this profile will be reduced to several positions. Groups like Action & Adventure, Horror, Thriller, etc. will disappear from the list.
Video quality varies by project and can go up to Ultra HD (4K) resolution. But more interesting is the support for high dynamic range video in HDR10 + and Dolby Vision formats, as well as Dolby Atmos sound. Movies in HDR10 + or Dolby Vision looks flawless. You can find out in what format the video is available by the corresponding icons in its description.
Any movie or series can be downloaded for further viewing without Internet access. But you can only watch the downloaded videos on the Netflix app and only with an active subscription. You won't be able to download a thousand TV series, then cancel your Netflix subscription and watch them for free for several years.
To use the Netflix app, you need an active subscription and a good stable Internet connection. The minimum speed should be 0.5 Mbit per second. For the highest image quality, a speed of 25 Mbit per second is required.
For the service to work properly on PCs, you need Windows XP or newer, on Mac, it is OS X Tiger or later. If you have one of the iOS devices, their operating system should be 12.0 or later. If you have an Android phone or tablet, the system version should be at least 5.0.
