Hangouts is a service used for online communication offering chat, voice and video conferencing features. It was developed by Google and released in 2013 during the conference of the main company members. Hangouts combines the best characteristics of previous Google communication apps.
What Is Hangouts?
The product is generally aimed at enterprise communication, formal and informal meetings and chats. There were a number of apps and platforms for networking that “merged” into Hangouts. The platform combines the functions of Google Meet and Google Chat, Google Duo and Messages. Google Meet is used for video conferences and simple voice calls, Google chat was developed for constant messaging (direct messages and threaded team channels). They are a part of G Suite. These services allow you to cooperate not only with one person but also with the whole team, as you can create separate rooms for joint goals and most ambitious projects. Google Duo is for one-on-one video calls (like FaceTime). Messages is an SMS application. The features of the mentioned services were combined into a separate app to make your life more convenient and make sure that you always stay connected.
